Willow is auditioning

Our queen Willow will be auditioning for her new home very soon. She has reared 2 wonderful litters for us here and it is time for her to find her forever home. We are keeping 2 of her daughters to continue her line on. Because she has been a consistant caller since she was 7 months old we think it will be in her best interests not to be hormone driven anymore. If you know of anyone who may be interested please email me. She is best suited to a house without other cats as she can be a bit bossy towards certain cats.

Famous Scientist boys

I love hearning back from owners about how their baby is going and getting lovely photos. I got sent some photos of 2 of the Famous Scientist boys and wow. They are such nice big boys and I can see a bit of both parents in them. It is lovely to see these pics as it gives me some indication of how their little sisters might turn out. So we have Kepler (Seal pt) and Leo (aka Newton) (Lilac tabby pt) at nearly 8 months.

My 2 special little girls

I am so excited about watching these little girls grow up. Both are show marked and will enter the show scene when they are a bit older. I am so proud to have bred these little girls and being 2nd generation Berrick is even more special. Both parents will retire soon and I couldn’t be happier for these girls to replace them. So Scarlet Fever (Seal tabby pt) and Sienna Shimmer (Seal pt) pictured below at 10 weeks.

NP babies at 10 weeks

I cannot believe how quickly this time has gone. Won’t be long and 3 of them will be off to their new homes. I will post the pics of those 3 here. Berry Contrary (blue pt), Lolita Lilac (Lilac pt) and Naked Truth (Seal pt). They all have wonderful homes to go to and their new owners cannot wait.

A couple of beautiful princesses

Well only time will tell as it always does but I am hoping to definately keep one of these little girls on to replace her mother and possibly her father as well (Leo will sire just one more litter and then will be desexed). I am waiting on some test results regarding blood type as there is a possibility of B blood type which I am not overly keen on doing (long story to explain why). So please keep your fingers crossed for some A blood type kittens and hopefully my wish will come true. Both these girls are nicely marked and have wonderful type. I am trying not to get too excited just yet until the results are in. But here are the little girls at 6 weeks- “Berrick Scarlet Fever” and “Berrick Sienna Shimmer”.

A little studly man

Little Java is developing on very nicely. I am looking forward to taking him to his first show next weekend. Hopefully he behaves himself. I am looking forward to watching him grow up as we have high hopes for him here.

Looking so alike

There has never been a repeat mating done here as I have always done different matings. I am loving seeing the similarties between the first litter and this current litterĀ of Willow and Leo’s. I have put some pics together and you can see the similarties.

Napoleon Perdis Lip Veils litter

Well I did have grand plans on using this theme with Willow and Leo’s first litter but they went and had a litter of all boys. So because this litter is nearly all girls it was a perfect opportunity to use this themeĀ of ‘make up’. So the kittens have all been individually named: ‘Scarlet Fever’, ‘Berry Contrary’, ‘Sienna Shimmer’, ‘Lolita Lilac’ and of course the only boy ‘Naked Truth’. I will add photos when they are 3 weeks old this week.

Getting to know the lines

It is nice to see similarities when you are breeding and when you have bred one of the parents of a litter it makes it even more interesting. Leo of course was born here and I have watched him grow up into the beautiful big boy he is today. There were similarities to both parents with the first litter he had with Willow in all of their sons. This current litter of theirs are still young so some similarities won’t come out until later on. I captured this photo today of his daughter “Berrick Sienna Shimmer’ at 2.5 weeks and couldn’t get over how much she looked like her dad at the same age. Of course she is a seal point and her father is a lilac tabby point but the resemblence is still there.

Introducing “Berrick Temptation” & “Berrick Java”

Well my decision was made a little easier as to who was staying out of these two babies. Their mother Sahara had to have an emergency spay after developing a closed pyometra. So these 2 little babies will be staying on for now. Both carry Chocolate and Dilute which is very exciting for us. Java will be shown as well as he is marked but Eve will relax at home.
